Situated in the little village of Tepolini, on a plateau with sweeping views across the hills and valleys that stretch from the Maremma to the Val d'Orcia, Borgo Tepolini is a fine 17th century historic building which offers Bed and Breakfast accommodation and a self catering apartment for four people. The house is surrounded by a large parkland garden with tall trees, fabulous views and an outdoor swimming pool.

The village enjoys a special microclimate where the breezes from the mountains and the sea cocoon the visitor in a 'breath of fresh air'. This wonderful climate and Borgo Tepolini combine to offer an ideal holiday destination throughout the year. In the spring, when nature awakens, with its hiking trails and cycling. In summer when you can walk along the trails and enjoy the cool under the chestnut trees or in the pool. In autumn discover the flavours of the grape harvest, the new olive oil and the celebrations for the Palio. In winter with skiing on the nearby ski slopes and then 'home' to relax in front of a roaring log fire...

The swimming pool is located in the garden taking advantage of the magnificent views across the valleys and to some of the neighbouring historic villages including, Seggiano, Montegiovi, Montelaterone. Here you can also find a nice shady spot underneath a chestnut tree for moments of quiet and relaxation, venture into the "road of the chestnut" path that will lead you into a fascinating nature walk where you will discover the ancient chestnut trees, orchards, springs and unspoilt landscapes of the area. For those who like or need to stay connected with the rest of the world, Wi-Fi internet access is available in the garden.

Whilst the peace and tranquility of Borgo Tepolini may make it difficult to tear yourself away, the estate is also ideally placed for exploring the stunning landscapes of the Val d'Orcia, Siena, Montepulciano and all the pretty little towns and villages that lie to its north and west. The Tuscan coast and the Maremma natural park lie within an hour's drive to the east, whilst the Etruscan towns of Sorano, Sovana and Pitigliano lie within an hour's drive to the South.

Closer to home the local villages are not to be overlooked. Castel del Piano, with its medieval centre, is one of the most important towns of Mount Amiata and visitors should seek out Palazzo Nericci, a museum dedicated to peasant culture, the Castiglionese Gate, Corso Nasini, the Monaci, Cantucci, Bruni, Alluigi and Cerboni Palaces, the Teatrino and the Loggia della Mercanzia. The town also hosts one of the country's oldest horse-race events, dating back to the 15th century, the Palio delle Contrade is a three-day event accompanied by colourful festivities. The palio was raced for the first time in 1402 and the city is divided into four contrade quarters that take part in the palio which takes place every year in early September please check to confirm dates.

Montenero and Montegiovi, two out-lying wards of the Comune of Casteldelpiano, are built on the top of two hills and offer their own historic interests including Montenero d'Orcia's Museum of the Vine and Wine. For lovers of winter sports, just a few kms from the village there is the reascending installation from Prato delle Macinaie to the top of Monte Amiata with 15 kms of ski-slopes.

The hotel comprises four double bedrooms each with private bathroom with shower that can be rented on a B&B basis by couples or at a discounted price for single
