KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Agriturismo Pometti La Selva is an extensive wine producing estate located in the Tuscany countryside 30km south east of Siena, making it ideal for exploring the Val d'Orcia, Pienza, Montepulciano, Siena and the surrounding Tuscan towns.
Dating back to the fifteenth century, the agriturismo is divided between two centres, set 300 metres apart and comprising the apartments of La Selva, twelve beautifully restored apartments of varying sizes all furnished with antique furniture in an authentic Tuscan style and Villa Boscarella, a vast Traditional Tuscan Villa that can be rented in its entirety with private pool for up to 20 guests or as B&B accommodation in private suites within the villa.
The farm has extensive grounds where guests can enjoy the swimming pool, table tennis, the gardens with barbecue and the hot tub. A tennis court is only 5km away. Each week guests can choose from a variety of activities including dinners, walks through the estate to explore the countryside and learn about the wine and oil producing process, tastings and guided tours of the winery
Cooking courses can also be organised. Participants can learn how to prepare simple, tasty dishes with seasonal local ingredients. Recipes are explained step by step with a translation in English upon request so guests can get 'hands on' experience of preparing a complete Tuscan meal from the starters to the dessert. At the end of the cooking course guests are treated to a delicious dinner where they can taste all the dishes they have made.
The medieval village of Trequanda, with its ruined castle dating back to 1200, is just a few minutes drive. The village, with a restaurant, shops, small supermarket and petrol station, is picturesque on its hill surrounded by woods, vineyards and olive groves.
