The farmhouse is split into two halves, Il Cavalieri and Caminetto, that when put together provide an independent private villa situated in its own garden grounds with private pool. This solution is perfect for an extended family or a group of friends who wish to holiday together whilst being able to retain some independence from one another.

Ground floor into Il Cavalieri: From the garden at the front of the house you enter into a comfortably furnished living/dining room with sofa and easy chairs, open fireplace, satellite TV, dining table to seat 10 people. Well-equipped kitchen with oven and hob, fridge/freezer and doors out onto the terrace. A few steps up from the living room leads to a small hallway. Twin bedroom with doors out onto a terrace. Double bedroom. Bathroom with shower.

From the front door of Il Cavalieri a few steps lead to a covered porch and to one of the entrances into Caminetto, opposite which is a small laundry room. This entrance leads straight into the first floor sitting room with open fireplace and satellite TV. Going downstairs from the living room is a spacious kitchen/diner with oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and doors to a furnished terrace.

The whole house is comfortably furnished and beautifully styled to incorporate country antiques alongside more modern furnishings. There is a laundry room with washing machine, iron and ironing board accessible from the loggia. Wi-fi is installed for those who need to stay connected.


Extensive garden grounds surround the farmhouse and along with the 100 year old olive trees, there is also an orchard and a vegetable garden which guests can use to pick their own seasonal vegetables & salad ingredients.

The pool area is fenced and is situated in the garden grounds on a small rise above the house. The garden is fairly extensive and boasts breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and countryside right out to the sea. The pool is 4m x 10m and has ladders for entry and exit. Pool generally open *April - October.


La Siesta is a traditional Marche farmhouse that dates to the 16th century. The house is full of character and has been carefully restored to leave original features intact whilst creating comfortable and well-equipped holiday accommodation.

The farmhouse is located off a quiet country lane in the heart of Le Marche's Macerata province, this is a wonderful base for exploring the surrounding countryside, the many small towns and villages of the area, the Frasassi caves and, of course, the beautiful coastline and beaches of the Adriatic. From your doorstep, without setting foot in your car, are some great walks and there is also a little bar within walking distance at about 1.5km.

The closest large town, five minutes by car, is Treia with its 13th century walls and a maze of charming alleyways filled with Lombard towers and renaissance and neoclassical buildings. The town is filled with interesting buildings, including the Romanesque Church of San Michele with its Gothic elements, which stands in front of the baroque Church of Santa Chiara. Then, within a 15 to 20 minute drive, there's the ancient town of Cingoli which, along with a variety of shops and traditional restaurants, has a central Piazza, Vittorio Emanuele II, that is overlooked by the City hall and the beautiful Cathedral.

For Opera fans, Macerata with its famous opera house is just 15 to 20 minutes drive. The opera house is the town's most notable landmark Built in 1819, the huge colonnaded hemicycle and outdoor theatre, called Arena Sferisterio, resembles an ancient Roman arena in style, whilst its excellent acoustics make it one of the grandest opera settings south of Verona. Founded in 1921 and running from mid July to mid August Arena, Sferisterio hosts some of the most popular summer music events in Italy.

The Adriatic coast and some great beaches also lie within easy reach of La Siesta. The sea is visible through the distant hills seen from La Siesta's garden and the top bedrooms on clear days and the seaside resorts of Conero, Porto Recanati and Civitanova Marche are only 30 minutes away by car. The farmhouse is also just 40 minutes away from the popular Italian ski-resort of Sarnanao, meaning La Siesta could also be the perfect choice for a winter holiday.

A holiday at La Siesta is to enjoy a great house surrounded by stunning scenery and having the benefits of your own private pool, the beach within easy reach and some great towns and villages to explore nearby. There is a large well-tended vegetable plot in the garden where guests can help themselves to seasonal vegetables and fruits. The estate also produces an excellent extra virgin olive oil which is avalable to purchase.

Please note The owner has a small studio onsite that he sometimes uses when he is writing and needs a peaceful retreat. This means he may be onsite at times but if you require absolute privacy please let us know at the time of booking so this can be guaranteed for you.
